About the role
Are you ready to build and scale payment capabilities that move real money, at
real scale? Join our Payments team to shape reusable, resilient platform
services that power high-value customer and partner journeys across Chase. This
is a hands-on product leadership role for builder-operators who combine product
judgment, technical fluency, operational rigor, and the drive to create lasting
change.
As a Vice President, Product Manager within Payments, you will lead
cross-functional teams through the full product lifecycle—from shaping and
challenging requirements, to shipping on time, to operating and evolving
resilient services in production. You’ll work across product, engineering,
architecture, design, analytics, and risk partners to build capabilities that
are scalable, well-controlled, and designed for reuse across multiple journeys
and partners. We’re looking for product owners who thrive in ambiguity,
challenge assumptions, communicate clearly at every level, and can move
seamlessly from API-level detail to executive-level discussion.
Job Responsibilities
* Partner with Product, Technology, Design, and Analytics to define and deliver
customer journeys and platform strategies, including 0–1 initiatives
* Own the product lifecycle from discovery through launch, stabilization,
adoption, and continuous improvement in production
* Translate customer, business, and platform outcomes into clear requirements,
KPIs, and success metrics that can be implemented as user stories and
workflows
* Shape and challenge requirements by asking the right questions, aligning
stakeholders, and ensuring solutions are scalable, reusable, and consistent
with platform patterns
* Partner deeply with engineering to influence technical design, validate
readiness, and ensure solutions meet functional, resiliency, performance,
observability, and control expectations
* Own roadmap sequencing, prioritization, trade-offs, dependencies, and agile
execution to deliver measurable customer and platform outcomes
* Establish strong production ownership, including monitoring, incident
response partnership, defect prioritization, root-cause remediation, and
operational excellence improvements
* Drive platform adoption and partner enablement by simplifying integration,
onboarding, and downstream operational processes
* Ensure a strong risk and controls environment by partnering with Risk,
Controls, Legal, Compliance, and other governance teams
* Lead, coach, and raise the bar for a small, high-performing product team
centered on accountability, clarity, and outcomes
Â
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
* 7+ years of experience in product management, payments, financial services,
or related technology-led roles
* Demonstrated ability to deliver complex products in large, matrixed
organizations with multiple stakeholders and dependencies
* Strong product mindset: customer-first thinking, crisp problem definition,
principled prioritization, and measurable outcomes
* High technical fluency, including the ability to discuss APIs, service-based
architectures, integration patterns, and the end-to-end product development
lifecycle using Agile methodologies
* Proven execution rigor, with strong attention to detail, self-organization,
and comfort operating in ambiguity with minimal oversight
* Strong operational and risk orientation, with an understanding of what it
takes to run reliable services and manage controls in production
* Outstanding written and verbal communication, including the ability to
simplify complex topics for executive audiences
* High judgment, high ownership, and the ability to raise the standard for how
product teams operate
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a comparable
field, or equivalent practical experience
Â
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
* Experience in money movement and digital payments, including
account-to-account transfers, funding and payouts, digital wallets,
card-related payments, payment processing, or adjacent products
* Experience building and scaling platform capabilities and reusable services
used by multiple products, journeys, or partners
* Prior 0–1 build experience in modern architectures, such as cloud-native
microservices and high-throughput, high-availability systems
* Demonstrated strength in partner enablement and integrations, including
simplifying onboarding and improving downstream operational outcomes
* Fintech, payments platform, or large-scale consumer payments experience
strongly preferred
