About the role

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Product Manager based in United States. Join a mission-driven, globally distributed team using technology to expand human agency and strengthen evidence-based nonprofit initiatives. As a Technical Product Manager, you will work directly with 3โ€“4 nonprofit partners at a time, transforming their operational challenges into practical product strategies and technical solutions. You will combine partner relationship management with hands-on product development, data analysis, experimentation, and engineering delivery. Working closely with engineers and nonprofit teams, you will turn complex needs into actionable roadmaps and measurable improvements. You will also mentor emerging talent, strengthen technical capabilities within partner organizations, and help develop reusable frameworks that benefit the wider sector. This remote, high-autonomy role offers the opportunity to deliver meaningful results while helping shape how technology-driven social impact initiatives scale. \n Accountabilities: You will lead end-to-end product engagements with nonprofit partners while driving technical execution, developing organizational capabilities, and sharing learnings across the wider network. Lead partner engagements: Serve as the primary point of contact for 3โ€“4 nonprofit partners, building trusted relationships, conducting structured discovery, identifying challenges, and defining opportunities for collaboration. Translate needs into product strategies: Develop roadmaps and provide technical guidance on product development, data infrastructure, evaluation, and experimentation. Build and deliver technical solutions: Work hands-on with partner platforms to create dashboards, develop data pipelines, integrate AI evaluations and production APIs, analyze trends, conduct user research, and run A/B tests. Drive engineering execution: Translate complex workflows into clear technical requirements, manage product backlogs, facilitate agile sprints, and coordinate delivery with engineering teams. Own the product lifecycle: Manage the process from identifying partner needs to shipping features, gathering feedback, and improving solutions based on results. Strengthen partner capabilities: Coach nonprofit staff, support the development of their technical and leadership skills, and help recruit for critical positions. Mentor emerging talent: Guide fellows in managing partner relationships, structuring engagements, and working effectively in resource-constrained environments. Share knowledge and improve processes: Document successful approaches, develop engagement frameworks, identify patterns across organizations, and contribute lessons learned to reusable public resources. Deliver measurable outcomes: Within the first 90 days, independently manage at least two partner engagements and deliver an initial improvement, such as an experiment, feature, or dashboard. Within the first year, lead 3โ€“4 engagements end-to-end and help train others. Requirements: You are a technically hands-on product leader who combines strong delivery skills with analytical thinking, stakeholder management, and a commitment to meaningful social impact. Relevant experience: At least 5 years of experience in technical product management, solutions engineering, or technology consulting, ideally combining client-facing and engineering-facing responsibilities. Hands-on technical expertise: Demonstrated experience building and shipping AI or LLM product features, data pipelines or warehouses, and production APIs, with direct involvement in implementation rather than management alone. Data and development skills: Ability to write and interpret SQL queries, navigate codebases, build data pipelines, and develop dashboards. Research and experimentation: Experience applying quantitative and qualitative methods to define problems, measure outcomes, support causal inference through A/B testing, or develop predictive analytics. You should be able to design studies, interpret results, and communicate findings to nontechnical stakeholders. Agile delivery: Strong command of sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and retrospectives, with the ability to maintain effective delivery processes in small, resource-constrained teams. Stakeholder management: Proven ability to balance competing priorities across engineers, behavioral scientists, and nonprofit program teams without relying on formal authority. Communication and leadership: Ability to build trust with diverse partners, explain technical concepts clearly, facilitate collaboration, and mentor colleagues and partner staff. Global development technology experience: Familiarity with tools such as ODK, DHIS2, Kobo, Metabase, dbt, or comparable data platforms is an advantage. Evidence-based development knowledge: Exposure to organizations and approaches associated with evidence-based development, including J-PAL, IPA, IDinsight, randomized controlled trials (RCTs), or monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), is a plus. Product scaling experience: A track record of using data-driven approaches to improve and scale products is desirable. Generative AI experience: Familiarity with AI product development, evaluation frameworks, prompt engineering, and LLM integrations is an advantage. Mission-driven experience: Previous work in low-resource environments, social impact initiatives, or technology for international development is a plus. Location and availability: Willingness to work remotely from an eligible location in Sub-Saharan Africa or South Asia, with flexibility across time zones. Benefits: Fully remote work arrangement. Flexible working hours and time zones. High autonomy and minimal hierarchy, with the opportunity to take ownership of partner engagements and product delivery. Meaningful mission-driven work using technology, data, and experimentation to support nonprofit organizations and improve outcomes for the communities they serve. Opportunities to work across software engineering, AI, social psychology, development economics, and evidence-based program design. Professional growth through hands-on technical delivery, product strategy, stakeholder leadership, and mentoring. The opportunity to contribute to reusable tools, public resources, and frameworks that can benefit organizations across the wider sector. A collaborative international network spanning more than 200 partner organizations. \n How Jobgether works: We use an AI-powered matching process to ensure your application is reviewed quickly, objectively, and fairly against the role's core requirements.
