This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Technical Product Manager based in the United States.
Join an innovative automotive technology environment focused on redefining mobility through electrification, digital innovation, and modern operational systems.
As a Staff Technical Product Manager, you will own a portfolio of internal digital products that help teams manage vehicle fleets, individual assets, locations, and shared operational resources.
You will shape the tools, workflows, and access models that enable teams across the organization to operate efficiently, securely, and at scale.
Working closely with Engineering, Design, Security, Legal, and Operations, you will translate complex business requirements into practical, scalable product solutions.

Accountabilities
Lead fleet and asset management products: Own the strategy, roadmap, and execution of digital products that enable internal teams to track, manage, allocate, and optimize fleets, individual vehicles, locations, and other operational resources.
Define operational workflows and data models: Establish the workflows, business rules, data structures, and integrations needed to answer critical operational questions, including what resources are available, where they are located, who can access them, how they are assigned, and how effectively they are utilized.
Develop resource access controls: Define and deliver product capabilities that determine who can view, assign, access, or operate vehicles, locations, and related resources. Ensure access models support employees, partners, and customers while maintaining appropriate governance, traceability, and accountability.
Drive product strategy and prioritization: Manage a portfolio that includes greenfield product development and existing internal tools, balancing immediate operational needs with long-term scalability, technical sustainability, and business impact.
Lead cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Design, Security and Compliance, Legal, Operations, and customer-facing teams to align stakeholders, establish priorities, and guide product decisions across organizational boundaries.
Influence technical architecture: Collaborate with engineering leaders to evaluate architectural options, make informed trade-offs, and ensure product capabilities remain secure, scalable, maintainable, and practical for day-to-day use.
Strengthen governance and compliance: Incorporate appropriate permissions, audit trails, provisioning processes, and business rules into product requirements, supporting secure and compliant management of operational resources.
Improve product performance and usability: Gather stakeholder feedback, identify operational inefficiencies, and continuously refine product capabilities to improve resource visibility, utilization, access management, and overall business productivity.
Align delivery with business objectives: Translate complex operational requirements into clear product strategies, roadmaps, and prioritized initiatives, ensuring teams deliver meaningful outcomes at an appropriate pace.
Requirements
Product management experience: At least 8 years of product management experience, with a strong track record of owning complex internal tools, enterprise SaaS products, operational platforms, or B2B systems used by multiple teams and stakeholder groups.
Operational domain expertise: Experience in fleet management, logistics, supply chain, field service, inventory management, location-based operations, or another operationally intensive domain. The ability to understand the complexities of tracking resources, managing ownership, and coordinating access at scale is particularly valuable.
Technical product judgment: Strong understanding of technical systems, data models, workflows, integrations, and architectural trade-offs, with the ability to collaborate credibly with senior engineers without necessarily having an engineering background.
Access management knowledge: Familiarity with role-based access control (RBAC), attribute-based access control (ABAC), user provisioning and deprovisioning, permissions management, and audit trails.
Cross-functional leadership: Demonstrated ability to align Engineering, Security, Legal, Operations, and commercial stakeholders around a shared direction without direct reporting authority.
Strategic and analytical thinking: Ability to translate complex business problems into clear product requirements, prioritize competing needs, assess trade-offs, and connect product decisions to measurable operational outcomes.
Communication and collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts, facilitate stakeholder discussions, and build trust across multidisciplinary teams.
Execution and adaptability: Strong organizational skills, sound product judgment, and a practical, results-oriented mindset. Comfortable managing ambiguity, navigating change, and balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-growing environment.
Regulatory and security awareness: Experience working in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments is an advantage, particularly where access controls, data protection, and auditability are important.
Preferred identity and security expertise: Familiarity with identity protocols and platforms such as SAML, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SCIM, Okta, or Microsoft Entra ID, as well as Zero Trust architecture principles.
Preferred enterprise technology experience: Exposure to SOC 2 or GDPR-regulated environments and experience with non-human identity patterns, including service accounts and scoped permissions for AI agents and automated services.
Preferred industry background: Experience in automotive, manufacturing, original equipment manufacturing (OEM), or multi-site operations is beneficial, although relevant transferable experience is also valued.
Travel and collaboration: Willingness to participate in occasional in-person meetings and company events, with the ability to travel as required. The role is remote within the United States, but it is not entirely free of in-person commitments.
Benefits
Competitive base salary: Annual base salary ranging from $140,000 to $170,000 USD for the general U.S. range.
Location-based compensation: An initial California base salary range of $154,000 to $187,000 USD. Final compensation depends on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
Annual performance bonus: Eligibility to participate in an annual performance bonus program.
Health insurance: Medical, dental, and vision coverage to support employees' health and well-being.
Income protection: Insurance plans designed to provide additional financial security.
Retirement savings: A 401(k) program with employer matching contributions and immediate vesting.
Generous paid time off: 20 days of planned PTO, accrued over time, plus 40 hours of unplanned PTO and 14 company or floating holidays annually.
Paid parental leave: Up to 16 weeks of paid leave for biological and adoptive parents of all genders.
Additional paid leave: Leave for bereavement, jury duty, voting, and military service, subject to applicable policies.
Remote work flexibility: The opportunity to work remotely from eligible locations within the United States, with occasional travel and in-person collaboration.
Professional growth: The opportunity to build foundational digital products, influence technical strategy, and contribute to the development of a growing automotive technology business.
