About the role
Amazon's devices are moving from responding to what customers say to perceiving
the world around them. Echo, Fire TV, Ring, and the next generation of ambient
devices increasingly see, hear, and remember so they can be genuinely helpful.
That capability only earns a place in the home if customers trust how it handles
what it perceives.
We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to own the product vision
and roadmap for Ambient Trust. You will define how always-on perceiving devices
respect the physical space and the people in it, and you will turn that into
shipped customer experiences, from today's early real-time visual features to a
broad ambient transparency and control surface across the device fleet. You will
work across product, engineering, science, design, hardware, legal, and privacy
to make trust a reason customers choose our devices.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the multi-year product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Ambient Trust
across perceiving surfaces (including voice, vision, and ambient sensing).
- Define the customer experience for ambient transparency and control
- Advance real-time visual understanding experiences from early release toward
dependable activation, accuracy, broader device coverage, and proactive, opt-in
capabilities.
- Write the narratives and requirements that align leadership and partner teams,
and represent Ambient Trust in cross-organization reviews with Product,
Hardware, Engineering, Legal, Responsible AI, and Privacy.
- Define the metrics that prove ambient experiences are both trusted and useful,
and use them to prioritize.
A day in the life
No two days look the same in this role. You will move between setting long-term
product direction and making the concrete calls that keep experiences moving,
partnering closely with engineering, science, design, and other teams to turn a
hard trust problem into something customers actually feel. You will spend time
listening to customers and translating what you learn into priorities, aligning
leaders and partner teams behind a clear plan, and making the judgment calls
that balance capability, usefulness, and trust. The common thread is that you
are the person making sure that as our devices become more capable, customers
feel more in control, not less.
