About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to lead the Product-Tech
function within Prime Video's US Planning & Audience Insights team. This team
defines Prime Video's audience objectives and delivers the customer
intelligence, analytics, and AI-powered solutions to optimize the PV US customer
experience.
You'll own the product vision and technical roadmap for a portfolio of
AI-powered tools and data platforms that shape the end-customer experience —
directly influencing what content millions of Prime Video customers discover,
when they see it, and how it's personalized to their preferences. Your products
will drive measurable improvements in customer engagement, retention, and
content satisfaction by powering smarter programming decisions, audience
targeting, and marketing optimization.
You'll develop deep expertise in how content programmers, marketers, and
leadership make decisions — spending time observing their workflows firsthand,
identifying unarticulated needs, and translating those insights into product
direction. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with data engineers, data
scientists, and BI/analytics teams to bring that vision to life. You will also
manage a small team of product managers.
Key job responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
- Own the product strategy and roadmap for a portfolio of customer-impacting
tools spanning release planning, experimentation automation, GenAI-powered
content analysis, and audience segmentation — from vision through delivery.
- Define clear product tenets, make deliberate "what not to build" decisions,
and measure success by downstream impact on viewer engagement, content
performance, and audience growth.
- Drive the team's AI strategy: GenAI-powered content gap identification,
natural language data interfaces, automated experiment analysis, and
AI-generated dashboard summaries.
Customer Understanding & Discovery
- Develop recognized segment expertise across Prime Video's internal customer
base (content programmers, marketers, audience strategists) — building a
structured discovery cadence and "voice of the customer" mechanism that
regularly surfaces insights which change the roadmap, including deciding what
NOT to build based on direct observation of workflows and unarticulated needs.
- Own audience infrastructure products including demographic prediction models
and audience segmentation frameworks that power PV's growth strategy — closing
the loop between internal tool usage and end-customer behavioral outcomes.
Technical & Product Ownership
- Act as the primary product owner across a team of data engineers, data
scientists, researchers, and BI engineers — defining the product vision that
drives their work, setting success metrics, and influencing execution priorities
through strategic clarity rather than positional authority.
- Partner with an SDE team to define requirements, prioritize the backlog, and
ship features for the team's flagship planning tool — acting as the primary
product voice for a platform used daily by content programmers and leadership.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Organizational Influence
- Lead cross-functional programs spanning analytics, research, data science,
marketing, and programming stakeholders — grounding product direction in direct
observation of customer workflows, and translating unarticulated needs into
clear product requirements.
- Establish a structured discovery cadence that regularly surfaces insights
which change the roadmap.
- Establish audience intelligence standards (e.g., segmentation taxonomy,
experimentation governance frameworks) adopted by teams beyond US Planning &
Audience Insights — positioning your products to an audience across Prime Video
US.
Senior Leadership & Strategic Influence
- Shape VP-level decision-making through QBRs, CPRs, and roadmap reviews —
proposing and defending strategic trade-offs (including what to deprioritize or
kill), not just reporting status. Influence organizational priorities beyond the
immediate team.
About the team
The US Planning & Audience Insights team is where strategy meets data meets AI:
we build the tools and intelligence that power programming decisions, audience
growth, and marketing optimization for our Prime Video streaming service. If you
want to work at the intersection of GenAI, customer science, and entertainment
strategy and see your work directly influence what millions of people watch,
this is the role. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a
quantitative/technical field such as computer science, engineering, statistics
- 2+ years of team management experience
- 5+ years of technical product management, program management or engineering
experience
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions
and strategy related to a product
- Experience developing, deploying and managing AI products at scale Preferred
Qualifications: - Knowledge of data engineering pipelines, cloud solutions, ETL
management, databases, visualizations and analytical platforms
- Knowledge of GenAI applications (LLMs, agentic architectures, RAG) in
enterprise product contexts
- Prior experience assessing when GenAI capabilities enhance versus complicate
product design
