About the role
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
* 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
* 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch
(e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc.).
* Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.
* Experience building and shipping front end user experiences, leveraging
qualitative, survey-based, and live-experiment research methodologies.
* Experience developing consent, transparency, and control experiences.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
* 2 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI,
sales finance, and other stakeholders.
* Experience building & shipping transparency, control & trust within digital
environments
* Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.
* Experience with rapid prototyping and data analysis.
* Experience in legal, compliance, or policy education, or in collaborating
with legal or compliance teams.

Our work is interesting and complex, requiring PMs to navigate challenging user
experiences, complex legal and policy requirements, and real impact to Google’s
organic and ads experience.
As a product manager on this team, you’ll work closely with dedicated
cross-functional teams (engineering, design, research, writers, and PgM) to
develop and evolve user experiences used by all Google users and respond to
evolving legal/regulatory requirements. Your stakeholders will include some of
Google’s most important product areas (including, YouTube, Search, and Ads).
The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products.
We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer
platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the
essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our
users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across
Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and
strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique
opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills,
experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $163000 - $236000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Drive the product lifecycle for Google's foundational transparency and
control surfaces.
* Act as a strategic responder, transforming regulatory landscapes, compliance
positions, and legal frameworks into clear, user-friendly transparency and
controls experiences that empower users to make informed and meaningful
choices about their data.
* Partner with core product teams (e.g., Search, YouTube, Play) to design and
offer meaningful privacy transparency and controls, enabling next-generation
product roadmaps while maintaining user trust.
* Lead the strategy, requirement definition, and execution of large-scale,
high-stakes user communication campaigns reaching billions of global users
regarding data practices and policy updates.
* Partner with engineering to identify bottlenecks and drive infrastructure
improvements, ensuring the efficiency, scalability, and technical reliability
of our T&C solutions.
