About the role
The Product Manager owns the strategy, roadmap, prioritization, and lifecycle
management for a portfolio of enterprise applications that includes both
custom-developed solutions and third-party SaaS or packaged products. This role
partners with business stakeholders, engineering teams, vendors, and support
teams to deliver measurable business value, maintain reliable operations, and
evolve products in line with user needs and enterprise priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Roadmap:Â Define and maintain product vision, roadmaps, and
outcome-based priorities for assigned applications. Balance new capabilities,
technical debt, operational stability, compliance, and user experience.
Stakeholder Partnership and Discovery:Â Engage business users and leaders to
understand workflows, pain points, opportunities, and success measures.
Translate insights into clear, actionable requirements and product decisions.
Portfolio and Backlog Management:Â Own and prioritize the product backlog using
business value, risk, effort, dependencies, and strategic alignment. Ensure
planned work is sufficiently refined for delivery teams and stakeholders have
transparent visibility into priorities.
Custom Application Delivery:Â Work closely with internal development, QA,
architecture, and delivery teams throughout discovery, design, development,
testing, release, and adoption. Provide timely decisions and clarifications
during Agile ceremonies.
Third-Party Application Management:Â Lead the business and product relationship
for third-party applications, including vendor coordination, release-impact
assessment, roadmap alignment, support escalation, and evaluation of
configuration or enhancement opportunities.
Requirements and Product Artifacts:Â Create and maintain product requirements,
user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, user experience mock-ups,
release communications, and other artifacts needed to align delivery and
business teams.
Operational Ownership:Â Partner with production support and vendors to monitor
service health, triage issues, communicate business impact, and prioritize
corrective work. Help ensure a disciplined transition from delivery to
sustainable support.
Validation and Adoption:Â Plan and coordinate user acceptance testing, gather
feedback, validate outcomes, and support rollout readiness, training, and
adoption activities.
Measurement and Continuous Improvement:Â Define and use product, operational, and
adoption metrics to assess performance, identify trends, and drive continuous
improvement.
Required Experience and Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, computer science, or a
related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
* Five or more years of product management, product ownership, business
analysis, or comparable experience supporting enterprise applications.
* Experience managing a mix of custom-developed applications, integrations and
third-party SaaS or packaged software.
* Strong ability to turn business needs into well-structured requirements, user
stories, acceptance criteria, and product documentation.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands using data, business
value, risk, and operational impact.
* Working knowledge of Agile delivery practices, including backlog refinement,
sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
* Comfort working with software vendors on product roadmaps, support
escalations, releases, and enhancement requests.
* Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management
skills; able to lead through influence rather than formal authority.
* Ability to understand and troubleshoot complex software workflows and
communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
* A customer-focused, curious, adaptable approach and commitment to continuous
learning and improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience supporting enterprise business systems in a complex,
multi-stakeholder organization.
* Experience with product analytics, service management, or application
lifecycle management tools (Azure DevOps experience preferred).
