About the role
Linedata is a global solutions provider dedicated to the Investment Management and the Credit community. Linedata’s Capitalstream product suite is a market-leading solution for lease & loan origination and enterprise risk management.
The Product Manager is responsible for the day-to-day product needs of Capitalstream clients including defect fixes, client change requests, small enhancements, product hot fixes for production issues, regulatory and compliance updates, and the management of third-party licenses, certificates, software updates and vendor relationships. This is a business-as-usual role focused on the steady, high-quality delivery of change to the existing product.
In your role as a Product Manager, you will own the BAU backlog and decide what is built next, based on business judgment, stakeholder input, customer value and overall business impact. You will work directly with banking clients, Customer Success, Engineering and QA teams to turn incoming requests into clearly defined requirements and acceptance criteria, and you will be accountable for the business value delivered in each release.
You’ll work in a fun, supportive, fast paced environment with a group of passionate developers, quality assurance testers and product managers who care about crafting solutions that create value for our customers and set us apart from our competitors. It is a highly rewarding position as we use the latest technologies and take an incremental, agile approach to software delivery that keeps you involved and highly engaged. Come join our team in our Boston or Toronto office to grow professionally and make a significant contribution.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
· Prioritize the BAU backlog – client change requests, enhancements and defects – based on business judgment, customer value, product direction and overall business impact
· Apply banking and lending domain knowledge to understand customer needs and identify which changes will provide the greatest value to clients
· Clearly define business requirements, acceptance criteria, expected outcomes and business objectives for all enhancements
· Own the intake, triage and prioritization of client change requests and product hot fixes for production issues together with the Customer Success team, keeping requesters informed of status and target release schedule
· Coordinate and communicate effectively with customers, internal departments, Engineering, QA and other stakeholders from request through release, working with Engineering on technical constraints, dependencies, risks and trade-offs
· Plan release content sprint by sprint, act as the product authority in grooming, planning and reviews and produce release notes and updated product documentation
· Manage third-party licenses, certificates and software updates used by the product – tracking renewals and expiry dates, planning vendor version upgrades into the release schedule, and maintaining the working relationships with those third parties
Requirements
· 3-5+ years of software product management or product ownership experience, including working directly with clients
· 3+ years experience in leasing, lending, and/or credit risk management, either directly in the industry or with an ISV serving the industry
· Bachelor’s degree required; degree in a Finance/Technology discipline preferred
· General knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including development processes, technical constraints, dependencies, risks and trade-offs
· Working knowledge of Agile delivery and hands-on use of backlog tools such as Jira, including coordination of UAT, client sign-off and post-release verification
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
