About the role
Join the world-class safety culture at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and be part of
supporting the largest cloud computing infrastructure team as a Product Manager,
Technical (PMT). We are seeking a Health & Safety (H&S) PMT who will own the
vision, strategy, and roadmap for safety technology products, including our
centralized safety platform supporting thousands of users across AWS data
centers, along with a growing portfolio of H&S tools and applications.
In this role, you will translate complex safety operational needs into clear
product requirements, drive technical product development from concept through
launch, and partner closely with engineering, UX, data, and cross-functional H&S
teams to deliver scalable solutions that measurably improve safety outcomes. The
ideal candidate is a highly motivated technical product leader with experience
building software products in regulated or safety-critical environments, a
strong ability to define requirements in ambiguity, and a proven track record of
delivering products that drive operational excellence.
You will bring demonstrated experience building partnerships with diverse teams
across multiple jurisdictions and the ability to proactively educate
stakeholders, from engineers to senior leaders, on product strategy and roadmap
decisions. The role will evolve with the maturity and growth of our H&S product
portfolio and requires a high degree of flexibility, including the ability to
deep-dive into time-critical technical challenges, balance competing priorities
across multiple products, and deliver continuous improvement through data-driven
iteration.
Key job responsibilities
• Own and manage the lifecycle of multiple H&S technology products, including
roadmap planning, feature prioritization, enhancements, maintenance, and
deployment of new tools and capabilities.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and
customers, deeply understanding their business needs and translating them into
actionable product requirements.
• Collaborate with AWS Product teams, Engineering, UX, and Solution Architects
to drive the development and implementation of H&S operational excellence
solutions across data center environments.
• Identify opportunities where H&S products can streamline business operations,
improve organizational efficiency, and drive measurable improvements in
workplace safety outcomes.
• Demonstrate excellent time-management skills and the ability to work
independently while leveraging centralized resources, policies, and procedures
to deliver results.
A day in the life
As a PMT on the H&S Products team, no two days look the same. You might start
your morning reviewing product metrics and prioritizing the feature backlog,
then lead a requirements workshop with Data Center Health and Safety (DCHS)
stakeholders. In the afternoon, you're partnering with Data Center Operations
(DCO) and Operational Excellence teams to evaluate how a new feature is
performing in the field. Later, you sync with Legal on compliance requirements
for an upcoming release. Throughout it all, you are the connective thread
between the people who use our safety products and the teams who build them.
