About the Associate Product Manager (APM) Program
Full-time new hires for this role will start as a cohort in Summer 2027.
This is a two-year career accelerator program designed to foster the next generation of leading product management talent.
Team rotations occur at the 12-month mark, ensuring exposure to multiple teams and product domains.
As part of the program, you will:
Gain hands-on experience building and launching products used by hundreds of millions of people.
Receive structured training on product management fundamentals and mentorship from Disney Product leaders.
Use data and user insights to understand business problems and help drive strategic decisions.
Participate in learning opportunities focused on strategic problem-solving, leadership development and networking.
Job Summary:
As a Product Manager I (APM), you will assist in the development and execution of product strategies to meet business objectives. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct market research, and support the product lifecycle from discovery to launch. As part of this development program, the role offers the opportunity to learn from an experienced product team and contribute to innovative projects for The Walt Disney Company.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to develop features for an assigned product domain.
Learn to develop and communicate a strategic vision for engaging our fans, aligning with broader company goals and market trends.
Write detailed product requirements, user stories, and documentation to drive development of features.
Work with leadership to craft product strategy, Objectives & Key Results (OKRs), and roadmap.
Support product research by analyzing competitor offerings.
Contribute to strategy documents and presentations.
Conduct basic data analysis to inform product decisions (e.g., usage metrics, user behavior).
Support feature launches and internal communications.
Basic Qualifications:
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to use data-driven insights to inform decisions and measure performance.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience through coursework, projects, or internships in product management or related technical domains such as engineering, software development and user experience.
Ability to recognize what makes a product valuable to the user and drive improvements to meet business goals.
Interest in product development, user experience, and technology.
Capacity to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Collaborative mindset with proven ability to build strong relationships across a range of functions and work effectively in team-oriented environments.
Required Education:
Upcoming or recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related technical field
Location:
The primary location for this role is the Greater LA, CA area, with additional opportunities potentially available in New York, NY. Final location and team placement will be determined at the time of offer based on business needs and team alignment. Candidates should be open and receptive to opportunities across all locations listed in this job posting.
The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $$97,500.00 - $130,700.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
