The Alaska Product Manager is responsible for the strategic management and
commercial performance of the Alaska cruise and cruise tour portfolio. This role
serves as the primary business owner for Alaska product performance, translating
market insights, customer needs, operational realities, and financial goals into
commercially successful product strategies.
The Manager leads the development and execution of Alaska commercial plans
designed to achieve Net Ticket Revenue (NTR), occupancy, profitability, and
guest satisfaction objectives. Working across Revenue Management, Marketing,
Sales, Operations, Product Development, and Holland America Princess Alaska
Tours (HAP), this role drives product evolution, pricing recommendations, demand
generation initiatives, and operational alignment.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with strategic
thinking, product management expertise, and cross-functional leadership skills.
This position plays a critical role in shaping the future direction of the
Alaska business.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of trends and best practices in
employee experience and organizational culture, demonstrated planning,
organizational, and collaborative skills, and the ability to problem-solve and
recommend creative solutions. Proficiency in MS Suite (Word, Excel, Email,
Multimedia, PowerBI) and a minimum of 3 years of experience overseeing employee
experience/recognition programs are required.

Responsibilities:
Alaska Product Management:
* Responsible for analyzing Alaska cruise and cruise tour performance data,
identifying trends, developing hypotheses, and translating findings into
actionable recommendations. Must be comfortable navigating differing
perspectives and influencing stakeholders through data-driven insights.
* Support development of Alaska commercial and activation plans aligned to
booking curves, occupancy targets, and Net Ticket Revenue (NTR) objectives.
* Assist in development and evolution of the Alaska product portfolio by
leveraging customer feedback, market research, operational insights, and
financial performance metrics.
* Serve as a key liaison between commercial, product, and operational teams to
ensure Alaska product initiatives are effectively planned, communicated, and
executed.
* Monitor booking trends, customer demand patterns, market performance, source
market contributions, and channel effectiveness to identify risks and
opportunities across the Alaska portfolio.
* Conduct ongoing analysis of guest behavior, operational performance,
competitive activity, and product results to inform pricing, promotional, and
product recommendations.
* Support management of the Alaska revenue pipeline, including onboard revenue
opportunities, ancillary products, and cruise tour enhancements, helping
identify growth opportunities and optimize commercial performance.
* Partner with Revenue Management, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Product
Development teams to support execution of product and commercial initiatives
across the Alaska business.
* Develop business cases and scenario analysis to evaluate product investments,
operational changes, and commercial opportunities.
High Performance Team Leadership
* Build, lead, and provide coaching, counseling, and direction to direct
reports to ensure their continued professional growth and development.
* Provide visionary leadership to team of pricing professionals (managers and
analysts), ensuring strategic alignment and a data-driven approach to pricing
and revenue management.
* Champion performance metrics, setting clear KPIs to measure team success and
drive continuous improvement.
Strategic Collaboration
* Collaborate with other departments to allign Alaska Product Management with
other short- and long-term priorities
* Work wtih AVP, Revenue Management, VP, Revenue Management and Market
Performance, and Director Alaska Planning and Marketing
* Champion performance metrics, setting clear KPIs to measure team success and
drive continuous improvement.
Budget Ownership
* G&A budget responsibilities for direct team

* The Alaska Product Manager is responsible for supporting the performance,
evolution, and commercialization of the Alaska cruise and cruise tour
portfolio. This role leverages data-driven insights to inform product
recommendations, demand generation initiatives, pricing opportunities, and
business planning activities. The Product Manager develops analyses and
strategic recommendations that help shape Alaska product decisions and
supports the execution of commercial and operational priorities across
multiple functional areas.
* The role operates in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment and
requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability
to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Product Manager partners
closely with Revenue Management, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Product
Development, and Alaska leadership teams to ensure product initiatives are
aligned with guest expectations, operational realities, and financial
objectives.
* Success in this role: requires the ability to think holistically about the
guest experience, commercial performance, product positioning, capacity
utilization, and profitability while balancing competing business priorities
and timelines.
* Problem Solving: Requires the ability to analyze complex business, customer
and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks across the
Alaska business. The Alaska Product Manager must develop hypotheses, evaluate
alternatives, and make data-driven recommendations that support product
enhancements and commercial objectives.
* This role frequently combines data from multiple sources, including booking
trends, guest feedback, operational metrics, competitive intelligence, and
financial performance, to derive actionable insights. The Product Manager is
expected to identify emerging issues, assess potential business impacts, and
recommend solutions that improve product performance, guest satisfaction, and
profitability.
* Impact: This role directly influences the performance and evolution of the
Alaska product portfolio through analytical insights, strategic
recommendations, and cross-functional coordination. As a key member of the
Alaska team, the Product Manager plays an important role in supporting
initiatives designed to improve revenue performance, product competitiveness,
guest experience, and operational effectiveness.

impact on Alaska business results, product development priorities, commercial
initiatives, and long-term portfolio planning.
* Leadership: Responsible for leading and influencing cross-functional teams to
support Alaska product initiatives, business objectives, and commercial
priorities. The Alaska Product Manager serves as a key connector between
Commercial, Revenue Management, Marketing, Sales, Product Development, and
Operations teams to drive alignment and successful execution.

Essential/Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional
experience. Undergraduate degree (MBA preferred). Must have +5-7 years of
experience at a large corporation or firm, Industry experience is desired.
Essential experience required:
* Analytical, ability to leverage various technology to analyze / synthesize
data (Tableau, PowerBi, etc.), working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence
is a bonus.
Travel: Less than 25% non-shipboard travel likely
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal
safety/health hazard potential.
Physical Demands: Work beyond normal business hours or on weekends may be
required occasionally to support business needs, projects, or operations.
**This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires
employees to work from a designated Princess location in Seattle, WA Monday
through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Fridays.
Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Seattle area.

* Base Salary Range: $80,169 to $97,500 The range is applicable for the labor
market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly
related to each candidate’s qualifications and experience uniquely.
