About the role
Jeppesen ForeFlight is the global standard in aviation data and navigation
software, serving commercial airlines, business aviation, military operators,
and general aviation pilots worldwide. This role sits within the Global Aviation
Data organization's Data Delivery and Enablement team, who owns the full arc of
the General and Business Aviation customer journey, from the moment a pilot
discovers and purchases Jeppesen data and charts, through fulfillment and
distribution, to the data actually loading into the avionics in the cockpit.
This role brings together two surfaces that have historically been managed
separately, our e-commerce experience (shop.jeppesen.com) and Jeppesen
Distribution Manager (JDM), into a single, end-to-end product ownership role.
A pilot's experience with Jeppesen is shaped just as much by how easy it is to
buy the right product as it is by whether that data loads cleanly into their
panel before a flight. This role owns that full journey and closes the gaps that
fall between teams today. The ideal candidate has personal experience buying
charts and navdata and loading them into their own avionics, and brings that
experience to how they define requirements, prioritize fixes, and advocate for
customers internally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap spanning the ecommerce
purchase experience (shop.jeppesen.com) and Jeppesen Distribution Manager
(JDM), treating them as a single connected customer journey rather than two
disconnected backlogs
* Define and prioritize improvements to the purchase experience, including
product discovery, checkout, account management, and subscription management,
in partnership with engineering and design
* Own the data delivery and distribution experience in JDM, ensuring pilots and
operators can reliably get current navdata and charts loaded into their
avionics with minimal friction or support burden
* Conduct direct user research and customer interviews with pilots, students,
and operators to understand where the current journey breaks down, and
translate those insights into clear product requirements
* Partner closely with Design/UX on the end-to-end experience, using research,
usability testing, and customer feedback to guide design decisions across
both surfaces
* Work directly and asynchronously with cross-functional engineering teams
(including teams based in Poland and India) to scope, prioritize, and ship
improvements across the full purchase-to-panel journey
* Define and track success metrics across the journey, including conversion,
checkout completion, fulfillment reliability, data currency, and customer
support contact volume, and use them to guide prioritization
* Represent the voice of the pilot customer internally, identifying and
escalating the moments in the journey that are most responsible for customer
loss or dissatisfaction today
* Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, distribution, and customer support
to align on customer-facing communication and priorities
* Attend trade shows, industry conferences, and customer or pilot community
events to stay close to customer needs
* Manage the full lifecycle of initiatives from discovery through delivery,
operating with a high degree of autonomy and self-direction
Basic Qualifications:
* 5+ years of product management experience
* Current or former pilot; you should have personally experienced buying and
loading Jeppesen or comparable navigation data and charts
* Experience working in the aviation industry, ideally with exposure to
avionics, flight planning, or aeronautical data products.
* Proven experience owning customer-facing products end-to-end, ideally
spanning both a purchase/commerce experience and a data delivery or workflow
application
* Demonstrated ability to take initiative and operate effectively in a
cross-functional, high-ambiguity environment with minimal direction
* Comfort working with globally distributed engineering teams and strong
asynchronous communication skills
* Customer-first mindset with the ability to translate qualitative feedback and
research into prioritized, actionable requirements
* Proficiency with agile delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent
* Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g.,
Bachelor's degree) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience, or
an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Master's + 3
years' related work experience, or 10 years' related work experience)
Preferred Qualifications:
* BA/BS in Business, Technology, Marketing, or equivalent work experience
* Experience with subscription commerce, license/entitlement management, or
data distribution systems
* Background in Design or User Research, or hands-on experience conducting user
research, usability testing, or customer discovery
