About the role
The Role
We're hiring a Technical Product Manager who will work closely with our CTO and co-founder to build the product roadmap, then get into the details and execute it. You'll write technical requirements, work through UI/UX with design, support product launches, and stay close enough to the work to understand exactly what's being built and why.
This role sits closer to engineering than a typical PM role. You should be able to reason through how we'd integrate with AI platforms and model providers, help scope out data pipelines for AI agent outputs, and write requirements detailed enough that engineering can build against them without a lot of back and forth. We're not expecting someone who writes production code day to day, but you need to be fluent enough in how the systems work to catch problems before they get expensive.
We also think about AI governance as something that makes AI better, not just a compliance checkbox. Clarity and oversight speed up AI adoption rather than slowing it down, and we want someone who gets that instinctively rather than leaning too hard on the regulatory angle.
The role spans both ends of the platform. You'll own bread and butter enterprise software work like permissions and workflows, and you'll also work on autonomousflashier surfaces like AI agents. We need someone humble enough to do both well and move between them without treating one as more important.
You'll also need a real feel for where AI itself is heading, since governance only works if the product keeps pace with how fast the technology changes. All product management roles are also business roles, so you’ll need to be comfortable with being customer-facing and extremely business literate.
This is an individual contributor role. You won't manage anyone, and your leverage comes from the quality of your thinking and execution.
Who You'll Work With
Our CTO and CEO, on roadmap and strategy
The AI team, researching AI governance practices and informing how the platform should evolve
The AI policy team, leading interpretation and analysis of AI regulations
Engineering, building the platform day to day
What You'll Do
Work directly with our CTO and co-founder to shape the product roadmap, then take ownership of executing it
Write detailed technical requirements, working through both the underlying system design and the UI/UX with design and engineering
Help scope integrations with AI platforms and model providers, and help design data pipelines for ingesting, structuring, and using AI agent outputs
Own both foundational enterprise workflows (permissions, admin tooling, review and approval flows) and newer, higher-profile capabilities like AI agents, giving both the same level of rigor
Track how the AI landscape is evolving (new model capabilities, new categories of risk, new patterns of enterprise adoption) and translate what you learn into concrete product and technical decisions
Make the business case for governance features in terms of value, not just risk avoidance, showing how they lead to faster AI adoption, better decisions, and stronger executive confidence
Partner with engineering to scope and sequence work realistically, and partner with customers and prospects to pressure-test ideas before they get built
Engage directly with customers to gather feedback on pain points and new product capabilities
Define success metrics that connect what you ship to real outcomes, not vanity metrics
What You Bring
6+ years of product management experience, with a substantial track record in B2B SaaS
Experience in risk, legaltech, cybersecurity, or an adjacent regulated/compliance-driven market. You don't need to be a regulatory expert, but you understand this buyer and this kind of software
Real technical depth. You can understand how to integrate with AI platforms and model providers, reason through how a data pipeline for AI agent outputs should be structured, and write technical requirements detailed enough for engineering to build against
Strong UI/UX instincts and real skill at gathering requirements. You can sit with an ambiguous problem, ask the right questions, and turn it into something design and engineering can build, on both the technical and the user-facing side
Solid working knowledge of AI and ML, and genuine interest in tracking where the technology is heading. You read about new models and new capabilities because you want to, not because it's required
Comfort operating at both ends of the spectrum: unglamorous but essential enterprise features (permissions, workflows, admin surfaces) and newer, more visible capabilities like AI agents. You don't need every project to be the exciting one
A bias toward getting into the details. You're glad to shape strategy with the CTO, and just as glad to spend an afternoon in Claude Design, a data schema, or a requirements doc
Excellent written and verbal communication, comfortable moving between a deeply technical conversation with engineering and a business conversation with an executive buyer
Based in or willing to relocate to the DC metro area, with the ability to work hybrid from our Arlington office
Must have current US work authorization; we're not able to sponsor visas for this role
Nice to Have
Prior experience at an early or growth-stage startup, where you've had to build product processes as much as product itself
Experience shipping AI-powered or agentic features, not just AI-adjacent products
A background in computer science, engineering, or a hands-on technical role earlier in your career
Exposure to how enterprise risk, compliance, or internal audit functions actually operate day to day
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $175,000-$215,000, commensurate with experience
Meaningful equity in an early-stage, venture-backed company
Health, dental, and vision coverage
Unlimited PTO
401(k)
