ABOUT THE JOB:
The Kids & Families team is dedicated to building safe, enriching, and
universally accessible experiences for younger users across Google’s ecosystem.
As the digital landscape evolves, ensuring age-appropriate experiences, privacy,
and compliance is critical to our mission. Our team works at the intersection of
complex regulatory requirements, and user-centric design to establish Google as
the industry standard for family safety and privacy-preserving age assurance.
As a Principal Product Manager for Age Assurance, you will lead the definitive
product strategy for how Google understands and assures user age at scale. You
are responsible for building and scaling a portfolio of platforms that allow
Google to deliver age-appropriate experiences while strictly adhering to global
safety and privacy regulations. You will pragmatically leverage advanced
technologies, including Machine Learning, Generative AI and LLMs, where they
solve critical problems, while proactively navigating cross-company,
multidisciplinary challenges. In this role, you will bridge the gap between
engineering, trust & safety, and executive leadership to orchestrate a unified
age assurance strategy across all of Google.
The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products.
We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer
platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the
essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our
users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across
Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and
strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique
opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills,
experience, and relevant education or training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Define, drive, and execute a cohesive, multi-year product strategy for age
assurance and compliance. Move Google beyond product area-specific solutions
to a unified, globally-scalable age assurance platform.
* Build robust systems for age determination. Deploy machine learning (e.g.,
age estimation models, behavioral signals) specifically where it adds value
and reduces user friction, balancing it appropriately with traditional
verification methods (e.g., identity checks, account history).
* Translate complex and constantly evolving global regulations into actionable
product requirements, infrastructure, and rigorous compliance metrics.
* Lead the adoption of age assurance platforms across major Google product
areas. Drive executive leadership alignment to secure buy-in, and ensure
seamless integration across the company.
* Monitor and improve system accuracy, user friction, and model fairness,
ensuring solutions perform equitably across global demographics.
