About the Role
We are seeking a highly hands-on and technical Product Manager to lead the
building and scaling of our next-generation payments platform, the
infrastructure that moves money from the moment a customer funds a payment to
the moment it settles with our banking partners. This role requires a unique
blend of deep technical depth, platform-level strategic thinking, and a
resourceful, bias-for-action mindset to build the payments platform that powers
the multiple Félix products requiring money movement, while improving
conversion, authorization rates, and unit economics.
You will own our payment orchestration layer and the ecosystem around it:
multiple payment processors, banking and settlement partners, tokenization, and
reconciliation. You will be a doer, not just a delegator, working closely with
engineering to build sophisticated real-time systems while owning critical
business metrics like authorization rate, processing cost, and GMV. This is a
role for a builder who thrives on extreme ownership in a high-growth, ambiguous
environment.
Responsibilities
* Define & Execute Payments Product Strategy – Work with Product and
Engineering leadership to develop and own the payments roadmap, focused on
unifying our processors, banking partners, and payment methods into a single,
scalable orchestration platform for pay-ins, routing, and settlement. This
requires a platform-first, reusable-component mindset.
* Own the Payment Orchestrator – Drive the evolution of our in-house
orchestrator and its rules engine: intelligent routing across processors, and
fallback and resilience logic. Balance authorization rates, cost per
transaction, and reliability. Own reconciliation and settlement health across
processors and banking partners, driving toward automation.
* Hands-On Data Analysis & Experimentation – Own payment metrics and have a
hands-on relationship with the data. You must be able to navigate complex
dashboards, run simple to medium-complexity SQL queries to validate
hypotheses, and partner with Data Analysts and Engineers to drive
improvements in conversion, acceptance, and authorization.
* Expand Payment Methods & Rails – Partner directly with engineering to design,
build, and launch payment methods and integrations across cards, wallets,
ACH, cash, and additional processors and settlement banks.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with Engineering, Finance
(reconciliation, treasury, revenue recognition), and Operations (payment ops,
disputes) to develop scalable solutions.
* Fraud Coordination - Partner with Fraud to monitor fraud performance by
payment method and supply the data needed for fraud checkpoints.
* Partner & BD Coordination - Partner with Business Development on processor
and banking partner negotiations.
* Stakeholder & Partner Management – Communicate payments strategy and impact
to executive leadership, and manage relationships with payment processors,
acquiring and banking partners, and card networks.
Requirements
* 5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on payments,
ideally in a fast-paced startup or growth environment where you were a
primary builder.
* Proven technical fluency & resourcefulness. Ability to work with engineering
teams on API-based payments solutions, demonstrated ability to run simple SQL
queries, and a clear understanding of data pipelines and system resilience
(e.g. timeouts, fallbacks, service dependencies).
* Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem (payment orchestration,
processors/PSPs, acquiring and banking partners, card networks, authorization
and settlement flows, tokenization, and reconciliation), or a track record of
rapidly acquiring deep domain knowledge in a new technical area.
* Experience owning payment performance metrics (authorization rate,
conversion, processing cost, GMV) and using them to drive product
improvements.
* Experience working with payment processors and orchestration, and familiarity
with alternative rails (ACH, BNPL, wallets, stablecoins) is a strong plus.
* Strong ownership and a bias towards action; comfortable working hands-on
rather than delegating.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, especially with
fraud, finance, compliance, and exec teams, as well as external partners.
* Passion for fintech and digital finance innovation.
* These are the applicable requisites, although equivalent competencies in any
of the above will also be considered.
What We Offer
* Base (Flexible depending on expectations/interview performance)
* SF/NYC: $152,000 - $193,000
* Initial stock options grant
* Annual performance bonus
* Health, dental, and vision plans
* 401(k)
* Remote work environment, although we have offices in Miami and México City
and would love to work in hybrid model if you are up to it.
* Continuous learning opportunities
* Unlimited PTO
* Paid parental leave
* Empowering opportunities for growth in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment
