About the role
Job Summary
The Sr. Product Manager - Chillers is responsible for driving strategic and
operational alignment across the Americas Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, and
the Chilled Water Product Line. This role is critical in ensuring performance
visibility and coordination across pipeline, orders, sales, and key financial
metrics specific to the Busway portfolio. Â
Reporting directly to the Sr. Director, Product Management - Thermal, this
position leads efforts to monitor and improve margin performance, including
pricing initiatives, VAVE efforts, and cost-out programs. The role also supports
long-term product strategy, business case development for new offerings, and
ongoing performance management of existing products. In addition, this
individual will serve as a primary source of customer and market intelligence
for Chillers in the the Americas region.
This position will be based onsite at Vertiv's Westerville, OH campus location.
Responsibilities:
* Serve as a strategic partner across Sales, Sales Operations, and Finance for
all Chilled Water-related topics, including pipeline, orders, sales, and
demand planning.
* Provides subject matter expertise and market knowledge for the Chilled Water
market and associated Vertiv product portfolio.
* Lead margin and profitability analysis and drive improvement initiatives
across the Chilled Water Product Line.
* Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Sales Operations, and the Product Line team
to execute pricing strategies and margin improvement programs.
* Work closely with the Thermal Technical Sales and Application Engineering
teams to support technical product strategy and customer alignment.
* Conduct research into market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, and
competitor activity specific to the Chiller space.
* Support Sales Enablement processes and best practices for new and evolving
Chilled Water products in coordination with Sales and Sales Operations.
* Gather voice-of-customer insights and translate them into product business
cases to inform global product management.
* Track and evaluate post-launch performance of Chilled Water offerings,
including pipeline development, quotations, and sales conversion.Â
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; Master's
Degree in Engineering or Business Administration is preferred.
* 8+ years in technical, product management, strategic planning, sales,
marketing or directly related experience
* Experience with Thermal Chilled Water Systems
* Experience in the data center industry preferred
* Strong business acumen and strong problem-solving capabilities to address
challenges and seize opportunities
* Ability to quickly develop cross-functional relationships to achieve business
objectives
* Technical expertise to translate stakeholder needs/pain points to solutions
* Able to combine long-term and short-term goals by setting priorities
* Ability to interact with all levels within the organization from entry level
to executive
* Attitude to act as a leader in their role and with curiosity in all that’s
new (market trends, new technologies etc.)
* Experience with data center focused HVAC solutions strongly preferred
* Language skills: fluent in English, written and verbal required
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Smartsheet and other business
applications
